5 out of 5 stars Laugh Out Loud Funny   September 7, 2010
Jenna McElhinney (Salem, MA USA)
I first discovered Chelsea Handler when I found her audio version of "Are You There Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea". Hearing the book read by Chelsea herself really put it over the top on the funny meter. As a result, as I was reading "Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang" I could hear her voice in my head reading it. Her sense of humor is contagious and often forced me to put the book down in order to regain my composure and continue reading. Regarding the reviews on this site that say this is one of Chelsea's least funny books, I strongly disagree. If you liked "Are You There Vodka? It's me, Chelsea" then you will certainly like this one. Many of the same characters (Chelsea's friends and co-workers) appear in this book and the stories are even more hysterical. Give this book a try, because it really is incredibly funny.

5 out of 5 stars Good hilarious read.   September 5, 2010

The first chapter almost got me sent to the couch for laughing in bed so loudly. It keeps going from there, a good collection of ridiculous stories.

4 out of 5 stars Light but funny read   September 4, 2010

Although this book is far from being my favorite it held its own. Handler's thoughts and observations are funny. This book is a breeze to get through and perfect for quick, light reading.

4 out of 5 stars Classic Chelsea   August 20, 2010
Season's Reading
Chelsea Handler's latest book is every bit as hilarious as her others, if not more. My only regret is that it is not currently available as an audiobook, because hearing her escapades told in her own voice is priceless.

Though it sometimes reads like she threw things together for the sake of making a book, her writing is so honest, offensive, and pee-your-pants funny (which she does at several points in the book), it's O.K. You will meet new friends, new family, new boyfriend and new dog, each one a pawn in Chelsea's innocently evil existence.

Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang is frank, female and fearless. You too will be holding your coslopus with laugther.

2 out of 5 stars Was expecting more relatability, less exploitation   August 18, 2010
Steven Warfield (Scotia, NY)
I was very entertained by Chelsea Handler's previous two books, 'My Horizontal Life' and 'Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea,' so I was looking forward to her third book quite a bit. Thus, I was somewhat disappointed when I actually had a chance to sit and read it.

I can't really put my finger on what made it a lesser read for me, but I can probably point to some bits that I can definitely say put me off. First, I'm glad that she's become quite well to do, but something about her bizarre quests to try and get a pet dolphin and the continual reminder of who her significant other is* (the CEO of the company that oversees her show!) made her "adventures" in those veins somewhat hard to relate to.
The bit about taking her "Chocolate Chunk" driver down seemed outright exploitive, as did the bandied about communiques between her family regarding her father's property.

Hopefully her next book will be a little easier to relate to.

*As I went to check exactly what said SO's title was (I couldn't remember precisely), I discovered that she has since broken up with said individual.
